What's the difference between 3CP, 5CP, and 6CP trays?
CP stands for compartments. 3CP Meal Tray (225 × 225 × 21 mm, 20 g) has three compartments: ideal for QSR meal sets, office canteens, banquet boxed meals. 5CP School Tray (225 × 205 × 24 mm, 22 g) and 5CP Deep Tray (264 × 237 × 33 mm, 33 g) have five compartments: standard for school cafeterias, prison meal programmes, hospital patient trays. 6CP Tray (300 × 224 × 32 mm, 38 g) has six compartments for institutional buffet service or large-format meal programmes.
What's the standard size for school cafeteria trays?
5CP School Tray (225 × 205 × 24 mm, 22 g) is the most common school cafeteria specification globally, including for India FSSAI 2024 compliance. 500 pieces per carton. Pairs with portion-controlled meals: main entrée + 4 side compartments for grains, vegetables, dessert, and bread roll.
Are bagasse trays compostable in industrial composting facilities?
Yes. EN 13432 and ASTM D6400 certified. Industrial composting facilities break down trays in 60 to 90 days. Home composting is possible (uncoated bagasse) but slower (6 to 12 months). PFAS-free, no synthetic coatings, no plastic film.
Can trays be used in commercial dishwashers?
Bagasse trays are designed for single-use foodservice (compostable disposable). Not intended for dishwasher cycles. For commercial reusable trays, look at our HORECA-grade alternatives (talk to our team for thermoset compostable options).
What's the MOQ for tray orders?
Standard trays ship at FCL minimum, approximately 96,000 to 250,000 pieces depending on tray size and packaging configuration. 3CP Meal Tray and 5CP School Tray can ship at higher density (more pieces per container). Custom-branded trays require 200,000 piece MOQ for the first run.
Are trays microwave-safe for institutional kitchens?
Yes. All bagasse trays are microwave-safe and oven-safe up to 220°C for 20 minutes. Suitable for institutional reheating in cafeterias, hospitals, and inflight catering. Validated for hot meals, sauce-heavy curries, and reheated entrees without softening or leaching.
Can compartments hold liquid (gravy, soup) without leaking?
Yes. Bagasse trays hold liquids well up to typical foodservice serving times. Validated for gravies, sambar, dal, curries, soup-of-the-day. Compartment walls are sealed and structurally rigid, preventing cross-mixing between sides.
How are trays packed for export shipping?
Trays are stack-packed (nested) in cartons of 250 to 500 pieces depending on tray size. Cartons palletized for ocean freight. Loading 96,000 to 200,000 pieces per 40' HQ container depending on tray. Loose-packed sample sets and FFP-Amazon packaging available on request.
