What's the difference between white and kraft clamshells?
Both are 100% bagasse with identical certifications, microwave-safety, and structural specs. White clamshells use bleached bagasse pulp for a clean white finish (premium look, brand-friendly for high-end QSR and hotel programmes). Brown kraft clamshells use unbleached bagasse for a natural raw aesthetic (artisan QSR, organic café programmes, brands positioning on natural sustainability).

Are bagasse clamshells leak-proof for sauces?
Yes. Hinged design with raised inner ridges prevents sauce migration. Validated for biryanis, curries, dal-based meals, and saucy stir-fries. Bagasse achieves grease and water resistance through structural density alone, no PFAS coatings or wax linings. Quick travel times within 60 minutes are typical use cases for delivery.
Are clamshells microwave-safe for delivery reheating?
Yes. All bagasse clamshells are microwave-safe and oven-safe up to 220°C for 20 minutes. Customer can reheat the meal directly in the clamshell at home. Suitable for QSR delivery, ghost kitchen reheating, hotel room service warming.
What's the MOQ for clamshell orders?
Standard clamshells ship at FCL minimum: 6×6 size at ~200,000 pieces per 40' HQ, 9×9 size at ~80,000 to 100,000 pieces per 40' HQ. Custom-branded clamshells require 200,000 piece MOQ for the first run, regardless of size.
Can I get custom-printed clamshells with my brand?
Yes. Pad printing on top of the clamshell lid with your brand logo: MOQ 200,000 pieces, 6 to 8 weeks lead time including printing. Custom-tooled clamshells (different size or compartment configuration) MOQ 500,000 pieces, 10 to 14 weeks. We share printing-plate and mould costs with your quote.

What's the closing mechanism, hinge or separate lid?
All Ecofy clamshells use an integrated hinge: top lid attached to bottom container by a flexible bagasse hinge that flexes during opening and closing. No separate lid to lose. Lid snap-closes against the rim, holding food secure during delivery transit.
