Top Bagasse Tableware Manufacturers in India (2026)
Ten bagasse tableware manufacturers in India, compared on plant, output and certification. Each claim marked verified or company-stated. How to spot a trader.
On this page
India has a growing group of companies moulding sugarcane bagasse into plates, bowls, trays, clamshells and takeaway containers. Manufacturers in the market include Ecofy, Pakka’s CHUK brand, Ecoware, Pappco Greenware, Fomex Group and several regional producers. Manufacturing transparency varies widely, so verify the production site, the legal entity on the certificate, food-contact documentation and compostability certification before comparing price.
Key takeaways
- Most bagasse tableware manufacturers in India are traders. Bagasse moulding is capital equipment, so there are far fewer plants in the country than there are companies selling the output.
- Only one publishes verifiable numbers. Pakka Limited is NSE-listed, so its 18 MT/day sits in public filings. Everyone else self-reports or publishes nothing.
- Three separate companies claim to be the largest, ourselves included, and none publishes a figure that would settle it.
- Six of the ten identify an operating location, but only three publish a full plant address. Three publish an output figure.
- The certificate is the fastest filter. If the legal name on it differs from the company invoicing you, you are buying through a middleman.
Three things usually go wrong
Most of the companies you find are not manufacturers. Bagasse moulding needs a pulping line, heated moulds, a press and a quality lab. There are far fewer plants in India than there are companies selling the output. Trading houses rank well, quote fast, and add a margin you cannot see.
The certificate does not belong to the company quoting you. This is the fastest way to spot a trader and almost nobody checks it. If the compostability certificate names a different legal entity from the one on your invoice, you are buying through a middleman.
The quoted price is not the price you pay. Most plants sell by the full container load, roughly 96,000 pieces in a 20 foot container. A quote that ignores minimum order, lead time and Incoterm is not a quote.
Names vary more than the products do. Sugarcane bagasse plates manufacturers in India, sugarcane disposable plates manufacturers in India and bagasse plate manufacturers in India all describe the same set of companies, because bagasse is what is left after sugarcane is crushed. The ten below are listed once, whichever phrase brought you here.
So this list of the top bagasse tableware manufacturers in India does one thing differently. For each company it separates what is checkable in a public record from what is only the company’s own marketing. We are on the list ourselves, and our entry is marked the same way. If you have already decided on India and want terms rather than a shortlist, go straight to our page for bagasse packaging manufacturers in India.
How we evaluated these manufacturers
We reviewed publicly available company websites, plant information, stock exchange listings and certification claims during September and October 2026. Each company was assessed on four things: whether it identifies a manufacturing location, whether it publishes an output figure, what certification it names, and how much of that a buyer could check without contacting the company.
Where we opened a company’s own page to confirm a fact, that page is linked. Where a claim appears only in third party listings we could not verify, it is marked as stated rather than confirmed. Nothing here is based on a search snippet alone.
Ecofy is our own company and is assessed against the same four criteria, including where we fall short. We do not publish an output figure either, and the entry says so.
The companies below are ordered by how much of their information we could check independently, starting with those whose details sit in public records. This is not a quality ranking. We have not scored the manufacturers against each other, and the order says nothing about product quality, price or service.

Pakka Limited (CHUK)
Plant. Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Listed on the National Stock Exchange of India as PAKKA.
Output. 18 MT per day of moulded fibre, plus a 40,000 tonne per annum paper unit. Those figures sit in public filings rather than a brochure, which makes Pakka the most transparent company here. A listed company cannot quietly restate its capacity.
Certification. States compostable, with a backyard-conditions claim of 60 to 180 days.
Note. Unbleached and chemical-free. Selected by the Ram Mandir Trust for the Ayodhya temple premises.
Ecoware
Plant. Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
Output. States 125 million pieces a year, with capacity cited around 1,800 to 2,000 tonnes per annum.
Certification. States it is the only USDA Bio-based certified manufacturer in India, and PFAS-free.

Pappco Greenware
Plant. Mumbai.
Output. Not published. 200+ compostable packaging designs, all from sugarcane bagasse.
Certification. States EN 13432, ASTM D6400, home compostable and FSSAI food-safe. Among the companies reviewed, this is the longest list of named standards, though certificate numbers are not published. Certificate numbers are not published, so ask for them.

Pulpcraft
Plant. Not published. States it ships through Nhava Sheva and Mundra.
Output. Not published.
Certification. States ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 22000, plus SGS food-safety testing and Sedex SMETA. Worth reading carefully: those ISO numbers are management-system standards covering quality, environment, occupational health and food-safety management. None of them certifies that a product is compostable. For that you need EN 13432, ASTM D6400 or IS/ISO 17088.
Note. Legal name Pulpcraft Private Limited. States exports to 18 countries including the USA, UK, UAE, Germany, Australia and Canada. Range covers plates from 5 to 12 inches, 2, 3 and 5 compartment meal trays and bowls from 120 to 360 ml, with a stated 30 to 90 day composting claim. Dinearth
Plant. Not published.
Output. Not published. Markets itself as India’s largest manufacturer of bagasse plates.

Growood
Plant. Not published.
Output. Not published. Describes itself as the largest manufacturer and exporter of bagasse products in India.
Certification. Not published.
Note. Serves domestic and international markets. The second company on this page to claim the largest position without a figure behind it.

Note. Sugarcane bagasse plates, bowls, clamshells and food containers for restaurants, hotels and foodservice in India and overseas. States products break down within 30 to 90 days under commercial composting. Founded by a group with a decade in the service industry, year not stated.
Fomex Group India
Plant. Survey No. 249, Fomex Road, NH 8-A, Village Jalida, Taluka Wankaner, District Morbi, Gujarat 363621. Source: company About page, checked October 2026.
Output. Not published. States it is the only producer in India using reciprocating forming, which it links to more uniform finished product.
Certification. Holds CIPET compostability certifications dated 2020. CIPET is a Government of India institute, so among the certifications named on this page it is the only one issued by a public body rather than a private scheme, though the 2020 date is worth checking against current validity.

Six of the ten identify an operating location, but only three publish a full plant address. Three publish an output figure. One files its numbers publicly, and one holds a certification issued by a government institute rather than a private scheme.
And three of them call themselves the largest. Dinearth claims the largest manufacturer of bagasse plates, Growood the largest manufacturer and exporter of bagasse products, and we describe ourselves as India’s largest moulded fibre tableware manufacturer. None of the three publishes a figure that would settle it, ourselves included. Treat the word as marketing wherever you see it, ask for tonnes per annum, and judge on the documents instead. That is why this list leads on certification rather than on size.
Check the documents yourself
Everything above is what these companies publish. The only way to settle it is to ask each of them for the paperwork and compare what comes back.
Start with us, because we are the easiest to disprove. Ask for the BRCGS Grade A certificate, the SGS and Intertek PFAS reports and the FDA 21 CFR 176.170 documentation, and check the legal name on each against the company that would invoice you. Then run the same five tests below on everyone else on this list.
Five checks before you order
- Ask for the certificate, not the claim. A real compostability certificate names a scheme, a standard, a certificate number, an issuing body and an expiry date. “Certified compostable” with none of those is a sentence, not a certificate. The standards that count are the EN 13432 compostability standard for Europe and the UK, ASTM D6400 for the United States, and IS/ISO 17088:2021 for India, published by the Bureau of Indian Standards. A compostable product sold in India needs certification from the Central Pollution Control Board under the Plastic Waste Management Rules, and that certificate is issued to a company and scoped to a named plant, so it is checkable.
- Check the legal name on it. It should match the company invoicing you. A mismatch almost always means a trader bought from a plant and resold to you.
- Ask for a current PFAS test report. Several markets now restrict intentionally added PFAS in foodware. Ask for the method and the date, not just the conclusion, because the test methods are not interchangeable: how PFAS is actually tested explains which ones a buyer should accept.
- Ask for food contact documentation. The United States requires compliance with FDA 21 CFR 176.170, the regulation covering components of paper and paperboard in contact with aqueous and fatty foods. Europe runs on framework Regulation 1935/2004 and migration testing under Regulation 10/2011. For sale within India, packaging must meet FSSAI rules for food-contact material. Ask which of the three a supplier holds, because a certificate for one market proves nothing about another.
- Ask to see the line. A manufacturer can show you the plant on a live video call within a day. A trader will offer photographs. The longer version of these checks is in our compostable tableware supplier vetting checklist.
